我回来了!

好久没上部落格了！

原本打算结束这部落格，后来又因为工作忙碌而没有更新。兜兜转转又回到了原点！

想一想也有一年多没上来了，是否因该换一换部落风格和版面？

现在还没什么头绪，等找到更好的版面或年头才逐渐的更新吧！

回顾Kerteh一周年

 

８月２００８年：

身为新鲜人的我刚踏入社会，结果一踏就进入位于登加奴，Kerteh 的 Vinyl Chloride (M) Sdn Bhd （VCMSB）。当时的我对登加奴非常陌生，唯一的印象就是大学时期到热浪岛的必经之路。

９月２００８年（１个月）：

在 VCMSB 工作了一个月，被安排担任 PVC Plant 的 Mechanical Maintenance Executive。工作量还算可以（后来才知道那些根本不算工作）。开始了解公司的营运方式。

１月２００９年（５个月）：

第一次体验了 PVC Plant shutdown。学习了很多 technical 的知识，也了解到作为 Maintenance Department 的辛酸的工作路程。

３月２００９年（７个月）：

原本由两位 engineer 负责的 PVC Plant Mechanical Team 现在只剩下我一个人负责。对我来说是一个艰难的考验。除了要了解工厂的运作，还要拥有足够的 Mechanical 知识、管辖 technician （9 位）、和尽量满足 Operation 部门的各项（合理 / 不合理）要求。

５月２００９年（９个月）：

Engineering Services Department 配合公司的 Staff Mobility Programme，我被安插在 VCM Plant 担任 Mechanical Maintenance Executive。VCM Plant 规模比 PVC Plant 大、比 PVC Plant 更 Toxic 和危险。花了好一段时间来适应。。。

７月２００９年（１１个月）：

接触了很多 Contract 的工作，如准备新的 contract，contract extension，contract piggy ride （骑猪。。。???）。接手了一些 Project，生活开始为这些 project 而忙碌。也成了许多 activities 的 Focal Person。在这１１个月里，一共担任了８个职位和３个Project：

(1) ENG HSE Sub-Committee Meeting Secretary

(2) Mechanical Section Meeting Secretary

(3) ENG PPE Compliance Task Force Secretary

(4) ENG Best Safety Talk Speaker Focal Person

(5) ENG Job Freeze Exercise Focal Person

(6) Behavioural Safety (BS) ENG Dept. Focal Person

(7) Chemical Hazard and Risk Assessment (CHRA) ENG Dept. Focal Person

(8) DDT Pigging Work Focal Person

(9) Defective Corrective Action Plan (DCAP) Project

(10) Waste Water Management Project

(11) Zero Plant Spill Project

Report for Duty

 

I report for duty to KLCC after obtaining my final academic result. I was accompanied by Xiong, who is also a PETRONAS scholar in UTP. We reported at Level 9 Education Sponsorship Unit and proceed to Level 63 Human Resource Unit.

I was recommended to work with PETRONAS. "Recommended" means they will list me for any job vacancy in PETRONAS. But I would have to wait for any work offer. I will receive a job offer within 6 months according to HR. That means I might need to lepak 6 months before securing for a job. It's worthless to find any job at this moment. PETRONAS may offer me a job anytime within 6 months and I would need to report for work 1 month after the offer letter is out.

彷徨的23岁，对未来的方向还是很模糊……

也就应该像lecturer所讲的，先找一份工作体验一下，然后才往自己向往的职业出发。

 

 

我的礼物 leh？Mali Mali Come Come……

Gift from the government - RM 2.70 / litter petrol

Just arrive from Taiwan 2 days ago... What I heard when I reach home was petrol price will increase to RM 2.70 per litter on the next day. What a surprise from the Malaysia government for welcoming me back.

Petrol price hike 78 cents per litter, more than 40% increase.

I overheard that the Prime Minister will announce the new petrol price at 5pm in the news. It was 430pm. I was too tired after the trip so I fall asleep.

I woke up at 7pm and found out that the petrol price increased to RM 2.70 per litter. It was too late for me to fill up my petrol. So I went out for dinner and went out to fill up petrol at 10pm. It took me 1 hour to get my petrol filled up. The petrol stations were full with cars queuing for their turn to fill up petrol at RM 1.92 per litter for the last time.

I pump full tank cost RM 70, but now it cost RM 100 for full tank.

Now everything was affected after the petrol price hike. Of course, petrol rise of 80 cents will cause teh tarik price to increase 20 to 30 cents. haha...

Everyone took the opportunity to increase their price as well. However, they need reasons for the raise in price. What are their reasons...???

Transportation company manager: "We need to increase the price because the price of spare parts, tires, raw material increased"

Mamak stall tauke: "...because price of the electricity, raw material, hot water increased..."

~ Finally my turn to fill up petrol ~

Everyone will think of any reasons to cover up... Their final intention is to gain more profits from the petrol price hike...

We employees will be the only ones who suffer from the petrol price hike, plus inflation. And yet our salary remains that that "minimum" level...

ALAM Gala Night 2008

 

2 weeks back I went to Holiday Inn, replacing my dad for his company's annual dinner, or they call it "Gala Night". What does Gala mean anyway?

 

It was a rush for me to attend the dinner though. My class on that day finished at 715 pm, but supposably ends at 730 pm. I was hoping the lecturer could finish the class at 7 pm, as he always did. To my dissapointment, it did not end early as I expected.

 

So I would have to rush here and there to get my clothes changed. Did the "transformation" in the restroom (sounds nice ya... restroom == toilet) of MMU. Without even tightening my belt, I came out and went back to my car as I was rushing to reach the venue before 8pm. So I wear my shoes ++ in the car while waiting for the traffic light to turn green.

It was my first time to step foot at Holiday Inn. The decor and view of the hotel was nice and grand. The buffet was delicious and there are many choices of delicacies to choose from.

They invited the DJ from Sinar FM, David as the host of the event, and a guest artist from Academic Fantasia (I forgot his name, I think his the champion of Academic Fantasia) to do the performance.

 

We were too full went out for a walk, and took pictures near the entrance of the hotel.

CNY Shopping

 

I went for my Chinese New Year shopping early this year because I wanted to shop during the 2007 Year End Mega Sale.

I'm not sure whether the so called Mega Sale is really "Mega Sale". Some unethical shopping complex may raise their price tag and said there were discounts. Actually the price after discount is just the usual selling price.

Up till now, I've bought 3 shirts. I'm planning to buy another one, plus a new jeans.

Deja-Vu: 930pm, 21 May 2007

When I was drawing the diagram for my previous post , Rain asked me what I was doing (She was studying for her tmr's paper). The moment I thought of replying her, I have some weird feeling that all this had happened before. Gosh! Deja-Vu! I answer her and told her about this. haha! Well, it's not the first time I'm having this feeling of *repeatation* in life, but this is so weird! It seems like I would know what my neighbor would do to me today! Maybe I didn't see the date la! So i don't know is today, or else I would have avoided it.
