Facebook Fever

Have not been blogging for a very very long time now. Friends start to asking me what is wrong with my blog updates. Asking why have I stop writing? To my surprise that friends who is viewing my blog is more than expected.

Anyway, I will start to update my blog more frequently. Recently I’m so fond of using facebook to get my friends’ recent updates and of course, the attractive games installed for facebook fan. Facebook became so successful due to its ability to open their source code to allow programmers to contribute their application (especially games) that attracted billions of users worldwide.

Now even our prime minister are so update to date that he owns blog, facebook and twitter. Imagine everyone’s privacy is not there anymore because of Facebook.

I’m bad…

Sony Ericsson C903

 

I have browsed through a few mobile phones, especially Sony Ericsson phones. Too bad when I found my dream phone C903, it does not have the 3G video camera. Although equipped with 5 MP Cybershot camera and A-GPS, I’m still not satisfied without 3G video camera.

 

Key features:

1. Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and dual-band HSDPA/ tri-band HSDPA in US version
2. 5 MP AF camera with dual LED flash, geo-tagging, face and smile detection, active lens cover
3. Built-in GPS with A-GPS support, Wayfinder Navigator software, geotagging

Main disadvantages:

1. Video recording limited to QVGA resolution at 30fps
2. M2 card slot under the battery cover
3. Camera key has almost no feedback at full press
4. The glossy surface is a fingerprint nightmare
5. No cover for the USB port
6. No office document viewer
7. No video-call camera

Again… Why DID you lost???

 

Even after the 6th by-election, Barisan National still loses the election after all the “we have learnt from this election.. blah blah blah…” One question came into my mind as whether Barisan National, especially UMNO really know their problems??? And really RESOLVED them?

We will always see this phrase when BN loses their by-election. And yet they still insist that the smaller gaps in the votes obtained shows that the RAKYAT are slowly turned to them.

Can I change to new mobile phone??

 

Since 2004 when I bought my Nokia 6630, it is a satisfying mobile phone for me. I can install any software for free, in which are useful. Application such as:

1. E-book reader
2. MP3/WMA player
3. Smartmovie player
4. Birthday tracker
5. Multiple alarm clock
6. Games: Bomberman, Mario, Sudoku, etc

I just found out that my mobile phone camera cannot be initiated. It shows “Function not supported!” error message whenever I tried to use the camera few days back. It’s been a while when it started to have problems. Unexpected phone restart, application hang, phone hang… It was still tolerable for me as I can still use it for phone call and take pictures.

Now it cannot take pictures anymore. So I guess it is time for me to change to a new phone. As its camera was not functional so sudden, I do not have any phone in mind.

H1N1? or just as a precaution?

 

VCM shutdown almost to the end as we have completed our maintenance work. This shutdown was planned to have 21 days Product to Product or 15 days Mechanical days.

However, during last few days before startup I felt sick and went to the doctor.

 

Doctor: “How do you feel?”

Hibiki: “A bit of fever, and soar throat”

Doctor: “Ok, let me have a look…”

Taken my body temperature and examine my throat…

Doctor: “Temperature normal, and your throat is reddish. Ok, I’ll give you 2 days MC…”

Hibiki: “Is my throat very serious..??”

Doctor: “Not really! Take 2 days MC just in case you infect your colleague at work.”

I was wearing my coverall to the clinic.

Doctor: “If your condition does not improve in 2 days, then you must come back for examination.”

 

So that is how I get my 2 days MC during the H1N1 epidemic that shook the world. All primary and secondary schools, as well as UITM and Polytechnic in Dungun (North of Kerteh) were closed for one week due to cases of H1N1 confirmed.

Where is my rest day??

 

3 more days till VCM plant start up and shut down work will come to an end. I can barely stand the shut down atmosphere as the team was working 7 am to 7 pm (12 hours) EVERYDAY… This morning having headache already. I really need a rest day after our shut down since 13 July… I WANT MY REST DAY!!!!

Shutdown Mood

 

My plant maintenance shutdown has already begun. I am in charge of Non Standard Repair (NSR) items, in which involves 29 work items scattered all over the plant. Managing 5 different contractors at those areas are not easy. A lot of internal collaboration between Maintenance, Operations, Technical Services, and contractors are crucial to succeed. Maintenance work coordination is not easy when you have several job around the plant, each with their own contractors. Arrangements for the pre work is a headache as preparation for NSR and documentation is insufficient. Contractors are not aware of blinding points required during maintenance work execution. Therefore, resulting in misunderstanding in the scope of work. Even myself have to consult the planner on certain issues arising from contractors.

Working shift from 7 am to 7 pm (most of the time more than 12 hours) will demolish all your personal time, especially your entertainment time. It is so difficult to find time to go to after work sessions, such as lepak at StarBucks for coffee… :-)

Since there are not many jobs today, I manage to take an early leave from the office to claim my personal time. Too bad all Engineering Services Department personal leave are frozen by our senior manager. Thus taking annual leave is not an option during shutdown period (21 days).

18 days more to go… Gambatteh!!!!

Quake and Tsunami Prediction???

 

Just got an email from Mandy regarding the Quake and Tsunami which were to come this July. I heard about this early this year but however kinda forget about it…

I’m not sure whether it is real… Just to share this info to all…

回顾Kerteh一周年

 

８月２００８年：

身为新鲜人的我刚踏入社会，结果一踏就进入位于登加奴，Kerteh 的 Vinyl Chloride (M) Sdn Bhd （VCMSB）。当时的我对登加奴非常陌生，唯一的印象就是大学时期到热浪岛的必经之路。

９月２００８年（１个月）：

在 VCMSB 工作了一个月，被安排担任 PVC Plant 的 Mechanical Maintenance Executive。工作量还算可以（后来才知道那些根本不算工作）。开始了解公司的营运方式。

１月２００９年（５个月）：

第一次体验了 PVC Plant shutdown。学习了很多 technical 的知识，也了解到作为 Maintenance Department 的辛酸的工作路程。

３月２００９年（７个月）：

原本由两位 engineer 负责的 PVC Plant Mechanical Team 现在只剩下我一个人负责。对我来说是一个艰难的考验。除了要了解工厂的运作，还要拥有足够的 Mechanical 知识、管辖 technician （9 位）、和尽量满足 Operation 部门的各项（合理 / 不合理）要求。

５月２００９年（９个月）：

Engineering Services Department 配合公司的 Staff Mobility Programme，我被安插在 VCM Plant 担任 Mechanical Maintenance Executive。VCM Plant 规模比 PVC Plant 大、比 PVC Plant 更 Toxic 和危险。花了好一段时间来适应。。。

７月２００９年（１１个月）：

接触了很多 Contract 的工作，如准备新的 contract，contract extension，contract piggy ride （骑猪。。。???）。接手了一些 Project，生活开始为这些 project 而忙碌。也成了许多 activities 的 Focal Person。在这１１个月里，一共担任了８个职位和３个Project：

(3) ENG PPE Compliance Task Force Secretary

(4) ENG Best Safety Talk Speaker Focal Person
