还记得之前提起面子书比部落格更能达到宣传效果。这也是其中一个渐渐放弃写部落格的原因。

面子书的status update能够让朋友们对你的近况一目了然。
也不用像写部落格一样长篇大论的…寥寥数句就可以了！省时省力！

可是部落格却能够保存你的生活力的记忆。
就如一本网上日记，点点滴滴都记载在里头。
慢慢地发现对写部落格重新燃起了热诚…

苹果真的那么好？

对苹果的认识得从两年前开始：iPhone 4
非常精美的设计，夺了我的目光！
可是在金钱的考量下，还是忍下购买的冲动…

结果敌不过朋友和女友的一再诱惑，还是一口气买了两架（女友1架）。当时真的豁出去，为了女友的要求，也冒着以后还电话单的庞大开销。

然而iPhone也没让我失望，一直都100%的融入生活里，尤其是它清晰的相机。

今年也抵不过诱惑买了macbook pro。
可是performance却没想象中理想，一直都看不到大家赞赏的速度。
终于在今天忍不住了！决定进行彻底的format，希望之后能得到物有所值的performance…

已经工作了3个星期

1st week

- 报到

- New Employee Briefing by 人事部 and HSE (Health Safety and Environment Department)

- 弄很多手续的东西：Agreement、填写资料、保险医药卡等

- 拿制服

- 拿 PPE：safety shoe, safety glasses, safety goggles, respirator, leather hand gloves, safety helmet

- 坐在座位发呆（office的人都叫我先relax，我的manager刚好这星期放假）

 

2nd week

- 跟着mentor（也是 Mechanical PVC Engineer，5年经验）进工厂。

- 工厂离我的办公室有800 meters的距离。大家都有是骑脚车进场的。可是我还没有脚车，所以要走路进去。

- 安全措施：进场不能带手机！

- 出席开会（当观众）

- 跟technician见面

- Planning and Scheduling workshop（去听、吃、认识同事）。在Rumbia Resort Villa进行。

 

3rd week

- Mentor 去 training，开始体验真正的engineer生活。

- 我还没拿到电脑，很多工作都需要电脑去完成。Email在这里很重要。工作和开会等都是用email通知的。

- 只有在这个星期的最后一天，IT 部门才把我的电脑送来。我很幸运了！很多年轻的engineer在几个月后才拿到电脑。

- 大部分的工作都要代mentor去做，包括：

开会：没经验，只有听和点头的份，偶尔也会询问不明白的东西，他们也很热心的讲解。公司的开会多不胜数，每天的开会有两个，每星期的开会有两个。过去三天我就从早上8点，开会到6点（5点放工）。根本没有什么多余的时间去安排technician的工作，幸好technician的leader 和 vice leader人都很好，都很配合。

分配工作：给technician（都是马来人）去做。刚好遇到puasa，也不能让他们做太多。可是又有很多东西要做。好矛盾！

Briefing：Briefing都是由CEO演讲，我们的CEO是华人，Mr. Thomas Wong。起薪briefing、Company Performance briefing（明明叫luncheon，可是没provide午餐因为puasa）。Luncheon也有让大家玩游戏、送奖品、还有door give拿。

- 公司今年的主题是“Riding the Storm”，百物涨价对公市来说是一个挑战，CEO说：“We must ride through the storm, and not against it!”。公司今年开始转亏为盈，成功在Petronas旗下的公司排名第二。

领悟Adobe Premiere Pro

 

刚刚开始学会 Adobe Premiere Pro 来 edit video。

 

之前都利用 Windows Movie Maker 来编辑影片，可是里面的功能都是预先设定的，不能弄太多的花样。 Premiere Pro 就不同了，它能够让我自由的选择称心的影片编辑功能。

 

前几天为了帮雨准备 presentation 影片，特地花了一点时间研究 premiere。也多多少少有点领悟编辑技巧。在一夜间完成了两个影片。这两个影片可说是我的处女作。因为影片的 file size 很大，所以迟一些才把影片放上blog。

64 MB MMC 重见天日

 

三年前换手机Nokia 6630，附送 64 MB 的 MMC 一直都收在手机盒子里。

一直到今天才重见天日，有用武之地。

 

千呼万唤始出来！

加入 Memory card reader 的行列，变身成为 64 MB Pendrive。

 

我用它来 backup FYP 的 report。哈哈！

Modem Add-on

 

Mod the CPU fan to the adaptor

 

Our ADSL modem by StreamyX

Turn it on for too long and it get over-heat.

Constant disconnection making us frustrated.

So, we solve it by placing a CPU fan on it.

Ping: 600+ ms

The connection is so slow that I can't even connect to my SRO game. The ping is around 600ms (usually is 300+ ms), which is horrible. I tried restarting the modem a few times and yet I still get the same problem.

 

STREAMYX pls make sure yr customers get what they paid for...!!!!!

 

Just having broadband is not enough! Quality and quantity both are equally important. What is the purpose of broadband when I can't even connect to my game.

New Windows Live Messenger

I heard about Windows Live Writer for quite some time but never actually used it before. A few days back, I browsed through some review sites recommending Windows Live Writer. It is actually a program that lets the user do blogging offline. It supports a bunch of blog sites, such as MSN Space (No doubt!), Blogger, Xanga, etc. Although it can be quite difficult to wait for the program to be downloaded (You need to download the Downloader, then only can you download the Windows Live Writer Setup files). Furthermore, it automatically download the new MSN Live Messenger along with the Writer. So my MSN Live Messenger was ~transformed~ into a latest version with cool looks. From the outlook, most functions looks the same. I haven't really explore it yet. ^^

However, after a few tries, I had uninstall Windows Live Writer because I think online blogging is more convenient. Offline blogging really is interesting (where u can pre-write yr blog and even put pictures without any online connection. U can simply save it and post it when u are connected) but only if I'm using a laptop. Too bad I have my powerful desktop PC. ^^
